2022 Double Magnum Cuvée
Source
A combination of Pinot Noir grapes selected from Summerland and East Kelowna.
Winemaking
Dijon clones 667, 115, 828, 777, and Pommard are hand harvested and destemmed into small batches. Each batch is cold soaked for 5-7 days before ambient fermentation. Approximately 3 weeks on skins before gently pressing and moving to French oak barrel for 13 month (40% new oak). Our Cuvée blend varies each year depending on the winemaker’s barrel selection.
Tasting Notes
The 2022 vintage is packed with baked cherry, blackberry, violet, and brown sugar. There is a pleasant damp earth and thyme spice note. The palate is fresh and bright with flavours of Bing cherry, pomegranate, red currant, and chocolate raspberry. Hints of Allspice linger on the finish.
Pair with grilled lamb chops, Roquefort cheese, pecan pie.

Wine Reviews

"The aromas of dark cherry and spice are mingled with flavours of dark fruits with earthy forest floor notes on the finish. The texture is robust. The wine should be decanted for current consumption."

"Grant Stanley always brings refined intensity to the mix but never goes over the top, with this batch settling in at only 13.5% alcohol. It is full of baked black cherry on the nose, with notes of freshly turned earth, dried spices, and sweet brown sugar. The palate features more cranberry and pomegranate and additional spice in the finish. A busy, quality pinot. It is rich enough to pair with grilled lamb chops or a simple piece of rich, creamy cheese. Drink or hold."
